 3rd Grade

Wingello played Bundanoon at Bundanoon. With storm clouds closing in on the ground, Bundanoon won the toss and sent Wingello in to bat. Openers Chris Jay and David McDonald got the side off to a brilliant start and when the players were forced to leave the ground after 13 overs the score was 0-57. This put the side behind the eight ball and when play resumed at ten past two, we knew we would get to face at least seven overs. This meant that the push for quick runs would be on. Unfortunately David Mcdonald was dismissed shortly after the resumption of play for 28. Chris Jay followed soon after for 32. Aaron Deegan then took to the bowlers to be 29 not out and with supported from Shane McDonnell and Andrew Benson the scored reached 3 for 106. Best bowler for Bundanoon was their Captain Tony Higgins who took 3 for 29.

In reply Bundanoon scored 6 for 110 with an over to spare. Opening batsmen Smith and Anthony Laverty started the innings well for Bundanoon before Anthony lost his wicket. This brought top scorer Nathan Cowley to the crease. Bundanoon then lost 4 quick wickets with Smith (19), Graeme Hines, Josh Zveglic, and Hill all being sent back to the pavilion. Nathan Cowley was joined by Nathan Zveglic at the crease and the pair managed to get the Bundanoon side home. Cowley remained 44 not out and Nathan Zveglic 15 not out.

As in our first match, fielding again let us down with a numerous chances going astray. Best bowlers for Wingello were openers Shane McDonnell with 2 for 35 and Andrew Benson with 2 for 39. Paul Miller with 1 for 12 was the only other wicket taker.
